Fujinori (Bruce) Suzuki – Managing Director

Mr. Suzuki received his degree in economics at Musashi University in Tokyo. He is completely fluent in English.

Mr. Suzuki was the business manager at Daiwa Seiko, Inc., a leading sports and recreation products manufacturer and importer in Japan, based out of their headquarters in Tokyo. Since 1985, he was responsible for the development of the Prince brand of tennis products in the Japanese market. During his tenure, Prince achieved a #1 position in Japan (for rackets…24.2% market share, US$28.7 mil.) from No.5  (5.6%, US$14.4 mil.) in wholesale market value. His responsibilities included product development of licensed tennis goods, including apparel and footwear, in addition to imported products (tennis rackets, accessories, etc.).  He also was responsible for the development and marketing of mountain bikes, outdoor products, ski, windsurfing board, athletic shoes under other brand names managed by Daiwa Seiko in Japan.

Between 1980 and 1985, he was responsible for development of the Daiwa Seiko export fishing tackle business as a product manager.  His focus was on fishing rod development for European market.

From 1970 to 1980, he was responsible for order processing, sales and service to Sears Roebuck, European & Asian distributors.  Mr. Suzuki is well versed in import & export operations in and out of Japan, has extensive contact throughout the retail trade of Japan and as extensive experience in working with the Japanese consumer market in consumer products, particularly those dependent on discretionary spending.

Mr. Suzuki has been an associate partner of IBMI since the mid 1990’s working successfully on a range of client driven products, both to further penetration and introduce products to the Japanese consumer.
